- The Science and Technology Campus (Scitech) is a 53-acre campus environment
where new technologies are transformed into viable businesses.
- As of March 2003, the Scitech campus has 380,000 square feet of office,
laboratory, manufacturing and warehouse space.
- Scitech is financed by the Ohio State University, the City of Columbus
and the State of Ohio.
- More than 500 people currently work within the Scitech complex.
- When completed, Scitech will provide over one million feet of floor
space for an estimated 2000 on-site workers.
- An additional 2000 workers are expected to commute to and from the
Scitech campus.
- Scitech is expected to contribute 1,000 new high technology jobs
to central Ohio's economic base.
- Scitech assists tenants with everything from building custom office/work
space to real estate transactions, financial assistance and connectivity
of utilities and Internet access.
- Scitech is not part of The Ohio State University, yet tenants on
the campus enjoy the benefit of OSU's resources.
- Scitech's campus network access features the availability of two separate
fiber networks enabling tenants fast Internet access with speeds at
the Internet 2 level for qualifying corporations or university entities.
The system will operate through a gigabit backbone, capable of supporting
major e-commerce sites and Web portals
